Istanbul – Europe to Asia, Day 2
After exploring Sultanahmet Square, we took the very crowded tram back to the funicular and walked over to the hotel to pick up our bags. We then took the funicular and tram to the ferry dock where we met Barbara who had arrived via train and tram from the airport. (Thank goodness for text messaging!)
After a little confusion with the tokens, we hopped on the ferry to Asia! The ferry took us right to Haydarpasa Station.
We were all ready for dinner so we found our way to the station restaurant, where we ate mostly mezes. The girls finished first, so I took them out in the station to get our bearings. We found the right train and peeked into the compartments; the girls were so excited by the sleeping compartments on the train!
Soon after everyone else left the restaurant, we were able to board the train. The girls ran amongst our three compartments, testing out all of the beds. Since the train left at 10:30, we tried to get everyone to bed not long after the train left the station.

Gwyneth your trip brings back memories. Either every restaurant looks the same in Istanbul or we ate at the same one. Hope you guys are having a great time, it certainly seems so.
