lake eden arts festival (leaf) – day 3
During the night, it actually snowed! None stuck to the ground at the camp, so the kids were disappointed. I got up before the kids to go buy some coffee and hot chocolate for us. Once we were warmed up, we headed over to Eden Hall for buffet breakfast. The sun was shining, making breakfast on the deck bright, even if quite chilly. Moving on to the Kids Village, Chloe waited for a long time in the Instrument Petting Zoo to get a chance at the violin. Lunch Money came on the kids’ stage soon after that and had a great set! The girls both enjoyed hearing their favorite songs again. Chloe decided to get her face painted again, this time as a butterfly. After the girls wandered through the kids’ artist market again, we headed off to look at the big hula hoops and to watch people caome down the giant zip line and land in the frigid lake — brrr!
Chloe was hungry and asked for an ear of corn to chew on. As we headed back to the campsite, Chloe decided she really wanted to try out the “aerial arts” and I bought her a trapeze lesson. She seemed to really love hanging upside down and contorting around the trapeze. We then headed back to the campsite and go to work packing up. The bottom of the tent had gotten wet, so once it was empty, we dragged the tent over to the sunny area and turned it upside down. Overall, packing wasn’t too difficult. I rode on the back of a golf cart to go get the car, then we loaded up and headed out.
Two big traffic jams slowed us down, but then we were home. I was too tired to really unpack, so we left most of the stuff in the car and relaxed for the rest of the (late) evening.
