Off to France Miniature
Barbara woke early. I woke a little later and started looking at my photos from the previous day. Barbara went down the block and bought a baguette for the morning. I had coffee and bread while working on my photos from yesterday. I got the girls up and we picked up around the apartment. When Barbara returned from her meeting, we headed to Gare Montparnasse, where we got a snack and took a train out to La Vierre, way past Versailles! We hoped on a bus and finally managed to arrive at France Miniature.
The park is in an approximate shape of France and a walking path leads through different regions of France where there are models of famous and typical buildings of the locale. We managed to see the all the highlights of France in just a few hours!
The girls got to play at the adventure area for a while. The girls went on the super slide, but didn’t like it because the French kids were pushy plus one kid had just puke. They liked the slide, but didn’t want to go again. We went over to the zip line chair; like the slide, there was no attendant. The kids there were trying to line themselves up, but were not “behind the line.” I fought with some “line cutters” but then a boy got knocked out when the zip line hit him. I was worried that he was unconscious and tried to find another adult (parent or French) to help) and it was slow. Finally, he got up, found his parents and the line games continued.
We continued with the French countryside, then headed to the snack bar. From there we went to the mini-cars area. Camille and Chloe both got cars and drove around for a very long time. We walked the path to the bus stop, waited, and took the bus. At the station, we jumped on the train, but it was an RER that was not on my map! I then looked and saw the map was from 1993….
We managed to make our way to Porte d’Italie via RER, tram, RER, Tram and walking. We were very surprised to see that the Hotel Campanile in Porte d’Italie was completely remodeled…. ILOG in Gentillly was at least still proudly displaying “ILOG” instead of “IBM.” We met up with Kathleen and went to our favorite Italian restaurant, Barbara had to leave for her dinner, but we finished ours and lft Kathleen there. Back at the apartment we tried to rest. Barbara came home from her dinner, but Chloe could not sleep.
