Fairies in the Garden
After years of wanting to go, I finally made it to Oakhurst Community Garden this past Friday. The girls have been a couple of times, and it sounded like the kind of place I would just love. And I do love it. I just wish it were a whole lot closer, perhaps right in Pine Lake.
I signed the girls up for a class on making garden fairies. Something that I knew they’d love to do. The price was a bit steep, but I felt it was more of a donation to a very good cause than a class fee.
The garden is so fantastic! They have plants for sale, a chicken coop, community garden areas and more. It is such a wonderful place to be. The girls came home (well, we haven’t been home yet, but) with beautiful fairies. I really have a feeling that this is my next project. Now to only find kindred spirits that can work with me on such an ambitious project. A community garden in Pine Lake that offers classes to kids and adults. How amazing (and what a great fit) that could be.

Ooh, a PL garden would be great! Isn’t there something of a community garden? I’ve snagged squash from them, I think, but I’m sure it’s not as educationally driven as the Oakhurst.
