Getting Around
Sheesh. We’ve been living here for a year now. You think I wouldn’t get so lost.
Coming home from the mountains, we dropped off books at our current library (apologies to the woman behind me that had to wait while we tried to dig out all the library books from various canvas bags in the back). To go to Target, I thought that I would simply take Ponce to the Stone Mt. Freeway. Well, somehow I missed the turn off — too caught up in listening to the Boxcar Children story we had on CD. I ended up in Stone Mt. Village. Nice little place. I figured, well, let’s just go around the mountain, how hard could that be?
Camille got out Tom just in case. We turned on Rockbridge (but which one was it — there are TWO here and I don’t know them apart even though I drive on one every time I drive anywhere — only way out of our village).
I recognized that intersection. Right, Kat? When I claimed you lived in the boonies, I didn’t realize I’d be living there so soon myself. Then Tom told us to turn left into some neighborhood. Then I got to an intersection choice of “No Outlet” and “Dead End No Turn around”. oops. I think Tom needs an update. There’s no way to “sneak” into Stone Mountain Park, is there?
Eventually, we found our way to Target and got the celery, peanut butter, cherries and corn that we were after. Whew. I took the freeway home. Too much excitment for one trip.

This sounds like something I would do. I find this whole area confusing, between the street names changing, many streets with the same name, and poorly marked turnoffs. The first couple of times I went to Target, I used the GPS so I wouldn’t miss the exit!
You should have called me! I am a good navigator ๐ That whole turn off from Ponce is challenging because there really aren’t good signs there. You just have to know where to go.
I don’t have fear of an adventure; the girls know that we will always find our way, one way or another ๐ TomTom has really helped me out of a bind many a time. When mapquest tells you to go north and your choices are east or west? Sheesh.
I now know to look more closely for the turnoff, at least.
