Final Day in NYC
New York City Article
The girls were not up for any ambitious sightseeing after we checked out of our hotel and headed to Manhattan. We took the subway to Times Square. Camille had in mind the chocolate stores.
There were 50 police cars there; from what I gathered they were filming the movie “The Taking of the Pelham 123”. IT was chaotic and crazy; I was happy to get off of Seventh Avenue and into the peace and quiet of Bryant Square by the library.
Then it was a short walk to Penn Station and the homeward bound train. The trip was uneventful. The girls loved having dinner in the dining car again. We watched the sun set over the fields of Virginia while eating. We’re home now and working on recovering from our adventure.

What a great trip you had! How do the kids do sleeping in the seats? how about you?! I’ll have to think about taking the train so that we can finally get ourselves to NYC!
The girls did great sitting in the seats this trip — last year Chloe has some issues settling down. Good training for our 14 hour flight to Japan, I guess ๐
I slept okay. I do admit that I took a three hour nap when we got home this morning. I was overtired from the trip in general, I guess.
I love that the train stops right in the center of NY. Dealing with transferring from the airport is a hassle. The train is just a really fun way to go.
