Today is Jules Verne Day and National Molasses Bar Day. We celebrated neither. I took my day of rest, mostly reading and relaxing. I find that having one down day a week really helps me with renewing for the upcoming week! I did spend a few moments to write a blog entry about the needle

With my Friday morning conference call ending early, Phelix and I headed out to Arabia ahead of plan. With our rush to leave, I neglected to check the weather for the day. I just threw on my usual: Keens (no socks), jeans, a turtleneck and a sweatshirt. When we arrived, Poppy reported that the temperature

Today is National Fettuccine Alfredo Day and Charles Dickens Day. Breakfast was farm eggs and waffle iron hash browns. So much easier than using the skillet – and less greasy too! Dinner was, of course, Alfredo’s of Rome’s Original Fettuccine Alfredo. Simple and delicious. Served with greens from our farm box. Yesterday, I overheard the

Empower and Energy, Project 44 and the monthly projects in my Happiness Project … so many projects! We all do it, don’t we? You see someone do something that goes against your *style* or convictions and you judge. I do it far too often. I try to stop myself every time. That person has a reason for doing what they do. Call me naive. I don’t mind. I know I am, and

I got the kids off to school, walked the dog, cleaned and worked until it was time to meet Amy for lunch. After lunch, Phelix and I went for a hike at Arabia. Not long after we got home, the teens and tweens descended. When Rob got home, he took the tweens bowling.

After an earlier morning flight from ATL to LGA and a short taxi ride to Prospect Heights, we dropped our bags at our home away from home for the next few days. As it wasn’t quite ready for us, I managed to drag the family right back out for our first adventure. Being a lovely
