Phelix and I went for a long morning walk (3 miles). Rob did work. Chloe, Jane and I went to the store. Rob, then I, took the girls to the pool. We had family dinner on the pool deck, then went swimming.

Freedom Park Farmers Market in the morning. Grace came over int he afternoon while Rob flew to Winder with Roy. A quiet evening at home.

Work. Long walk. Trip to L5P. Claire spent the night. We made homemade pizzas and blueberry muffins and watched “Rent”.

Barbara made bagels for breakfast. I worked all day. When Chloe, Phil and Barbara got back from town, we headed home. Chloe and I went to the Veronica Roth/Marie Lu talk at Presser Hall. Barbara came to spend the night.

I worked all morning, then we went out for lunch at the Blue Ridge Brewery. Service was incredibly slow, but the food was pretty good. When we got back, I worked more and then took a nap. The girls ate watermelon and plated games in the evening.

Rob and the girls got Ratio pastries for breakfast, then headed out to Six Flags for the day. I got lots done around the house while they were out. When they got back, we quickly packed up and headed up to the cabin. We had Chloe’s birthday dinner and cake with Phil and Barbara.

We all slept in a bit. Rob made waffles for breakfast. I went out to lunch with Susan. We spent the afternoon working on projects around the house. I volunteered with Police CAPS at the parade. We had a cookout on the pool deck. I then volunteered at the fireworks – in the fallout zone!

Our first sight of Crete was the harbor as our ferry arrived to dock. After disembarking we walked along the harbor to get to our hotel, which was right on the water. Throughout our two days on Crete, we kept returning to various spots along the water.
