Out West Trip: Day 11 (Mesa Verde, CO to Grand Canyon, AZ)
Today’s Highlights: Navajo Pizza at Twin Rocks Cafe in Bluff, Utah, driving off-road to see Mexican Hat, making up names for the rocks in Monument Valley, seeing the Grand Canyon! Out West Trip: Day 10 (Holbrook, AZ to Mesa Verde, CO)
Today’s Highlights: Standing in four states all at the same time, climbing down a ladder into a kiva in a cliff dwelling at Mesa Verde, finally getting to make smores. The sun rose *very* early because of MST. I worked for a bit while Rob and the girls got pancakes and eggs from the KOA

The holiday season is in full swing here in our little hamlet of Pine Lake. This past weekend, we celebrated with our Pancake Breakfast with Santa, Cookie Exchange and Lighting of the Lake. snow swimming
on our final full day in Steamboat Springs, the girls hung out with their “cousins,” went shopping downtown at the candy store and then swam at the hot springs! Strange to see people walking around outside in swimsuits when the temperature is in the teens, but it sounds like everyone had a good time!
ski school
yesterday, the girls headed off for their day on the slopes at ski school! Getting all suited up was quite a challenge, especially the ski boots! Rob took them off to their classes where they learned some of the basics of skiing. Though it looks cool, Chloe declared the “Magic Carpet” to be boring. Rob
more fun in the snow
yesterday, first thing in the morning, rob called the ski school up at the mountain and made reservations for the girls for a day of lessons on Monday. That done, he headed out to rent a snowboard for himself and then came back and took the girls up to the mountain to get all the
snow, lots of it!
I woke up at 4am and could not get back to sleep. I decided to get up and take care of some organizing and work on my photos from the day before. Chloe got up at 6am, and we sat in bed and chatted for a long time. Around 7am, we finally ventured up to
