photo friday: antrim coast
My final post from Northern Ireland – places we went along the Antrim Coast OTHER than Giant’s Causeway. Unfortunately, the day was windy and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge was not open.

We made it! Giant’s Causeway had been on my wish list for years and years, and I wasn’t going to pass up the chance to go while we were in Ireland. The trip there was long, but I am so glad that we finally got to see this amazing place.

From our apartment in Portballintrae near the Giants’ Causeway in Northern Ireland, my mom, Chloe and I walked along the Causeway Railway to the Causeway Coast Way. Instead of following the tracks straight to the Giants’ Causeway, we turned towards the sea and found breathtaking views, wind, and more geocaches.

While spending the weekend near Giant’s Causeway, we came across the Giant’s Causeway & Bushmills Railway. Though we didn’t get the chance to ride the railway, the train passed my mom, Chloe and I a number of times as we walked the trail to the Giant’s Causeway. Looks like a fun ride!

For our first of our three weekend trips while we were in Ireland, we drove up to the Antrim Coast in Northern Ireland so we could visit the Giant’s Causeway. Our base for the two nights was a lovely holiday cottage in Portballintrae, just a couple of blocks from the windy, windy coast. A little

Ireland Trip: Day 3
After having stayed up past 2am, I couldn’t get up at 5am despite waking then. Instead, I forced myself to try to sleep past 8am. I then got up, despite not feeling totally rested. After taking care of a few things and then waking the rest of the family, we had some cereal for breakfast.
Ireland Trip: Day 2
Though I was up early (5:30), the rest of the family slept in a bit, some more than others. After some preparation and packing we hit the road a bit after 10am. After a few missed turns, we were finally on the road out of town. No real motorway as we headed north, mostly just
