Roof from inside.
barcelona.
The pedestrian alleys in the older part of town are amazing … and with the sun setting directly down the passageway!
windows.
So many windows on this facade in Barcelona!
monster!
Look at this monster trying to escape in London!
travels: SE Maine
On March 9th, I went to the airport for my Global Entry interview…. ironic, as I haven’t been to the airport since. In fact, I haven’t traveled since… other than a over-protected, three gas stop commute from Atlanta to Cape Cod back in June. Since arriving at home on the Cape, I have not crossed
foreshore ripple.
The same, but different every day. Without Google, it would have taken me weeks to learn the name “foreshore ripples”. I would love to make a time lapse video of low tide on one of the bay beaches in order to study how the ripples change from tide to tide. Do they stay the same?
the elusive green flash.
The “Green Flash”. Is it real? Or is it like the tooth fairy? I stood there on the beach, alone, but surrounded by like-minded folks. We had all gathered to watch the sun slowly, slowly, then amazingly quickly, fall below the horizon. I overheard family conversations about how the sun isn’t moving but we are
progress.
At the town meeting the other night, after some debate, the citizens voted to allocate the funds to build a new building for the harbormaster. With the amenities required for the job. So before long, this little shack will likely be no more. Progress is good, but it is also sad to see the quaint
heart’s home.
Over the years, I’ve found that my heart has a few homes. Not just one, and not necessarily the one I live in. I have some favorite places – XM in DC is always a place that make my heart feel alive and happy (my “happy place”). I could add a few others to that
photo friday: cape cod winter
As much as I love the Cape in the summer, I think I might love it in the winter even more. It’s quiet and relaxed. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and peaceful. I wish we had been able to spend more time, but there’s always next time!
spotting an old friend.
While out and about today, I spotted an old friend. I almost went around the block to see if it really was who I thought it was. Even if it wasn’t that old friend, I enjoyed reminiscing about all of our fun times together. My old Subaru wagon took me and the girls on trip
photo friday: provincetown
Provincetown in the winter! I’m in love. A tourist town turns small town in a lovely way. The market, recommend by my jewelry who is really a chef, was perfect.
photo friday: cape bay beaches
Snow on the bay! Such a strange sight to see the snow mixing with the salt water in the shallows …. I hope to one day see snow on the beach at low tide!
photo friday: cape ocean beaches
Cape Cod in the winter is beautiful!
photo friday: tiny worlds
I don’t often get the chance to take things slowly. There is a crisis in the making at all times, so I generally try to live five steps ahead. Every once in a while, I remind myself to “Go slow, live in the moment.” But then the panic sets in again, and I forget. Today
cape cod.
Been a bit too long since we’ve been to the beach.
photo friday: cloudland canyon
A chilly, yet lovely, weekend camping on the West Rim of Cloudland Canyon. Hiking, resting, geocaching.
photo friday: corn maze
It used to be one of our fall traditions – heading up to North Georgia and visiting a corn maze. But the girls got busy, and we haven’t gone for a couple of years. This past weekend, Chloe and I managed to sneak away for a day and return to one of our favorite places!
photo friday: fallingwater
Camille had one request for our rod trip to Smith. Fallingwater. Not really on the way, but WHY NOT. She’s my girl, and I have one more trip with her before she is out on her own. So we made it happen. And it was amazing. And I ill never forget our time there together….
photo friday: DUMBO and the Brooklyn Bridge
Camille and I had a lovely Sunday morning exploring the DUMBO flea market and eating lunch a picnic table in the midst of it all. From there, she took the train into the city to see a play. I decided to wander over the bridge. SO MANY PEOPLE. It really was not enjoyable. I’ll not
