NaBloPoMo
Once, long ago (2006), I participated in NaBloPoMo. Even though I really don’t know that I have anything interesting to say, much less enough things to fill a whole month of posts, I’m going to participate again. Maybe I’ll just have to plan enough trips this month so I can have things to write about.
What Happened??
Over two weeks have gone by and I haven’t blogged. Here, there or anywhere. Yikes! I came down with the flu a couple weeks ago while in DC. And it knocked me out. I felt better, flew home, and then got the second stage, which I’m just now finally recovering from. I was exhausted. Just
Do You Twitter?
I like Twitter. For many reasons. One is that sometimes I have something short and simple to say and don’t want to create an entire blog entry for a random thought. I can post these to Twitter and, via the nice widget, the thought appears on the sidebar of my blog! Not only that, but
Two new URLs
A friend suggested that I get some new URLs. Because I don’t have enough online presence (twitter, facebook, myspace, multiple blogs, picasa, 3 flickr accounts, multiple email addresses and so on … ) http://www.gooneybirdkids.comhttp://www.xmkfans.com As of now, they just redirect to Blogger blogs. No plan for them to do anything more at the moment.
Go for the Chrome?
Google welcomed the latest addition to its family yesterday, Google Chrome. It is purported to be: a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. . Generally, my working habits are slow to evolve when faced with a new technology. I fight against the new features
Let’s Meet at “Translate Server Error”!
Last night at the beach, a friend of mine told me about this, I just thought it was hysterical. See for yourself! Chinese restaurant called TRANSLATE SERVER ERROR… PS Having just returned from Japan, I do appreciate their effort to make the name of their restaurant understandable to foreigners…and this error hopefully brought them lots
Mosaic Me
The Whole Ball of Yarn(s) posted this fun little flickr game that caught my attention. The concept:a. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.b. Using only the first page, pick an image.c. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into fd’s mosaic maker. The Questions:1. What is your
XMKids
As is not uncommon around here, I started a new blog a couple of weeks ago. This time one about XMKids. We got XM as a Christmas present to ourselves this year, and the girls and I have really enjoyed listening in. The new blog is at http://xmkidsfans.blogspot.com/.
Blog Photos
In preparation for 2008, I renamed my Daily Photo album on Picasa to Daily Photo 2007. Apparently, Picasa renamed the directory, so many of the photos in the blog now have broken links. The Googlers surely could have come up with a better system than that! Oh well. It’s a wet morning here in Atlanta.
Tagged
Though it usually looks like that, I admit I stopped to remove two files that Rob put there yesterday while applying for a FCC license of some sort having to do with the “compliated” (as Chloe says) walkie-talkies I bought for the kids for Christmas. The license is good for everyone remotely related to him,
100 Feeds
Whoa. I have one hundred feeds in my bloglines account now. Not all are active feeds, but it still seems like a huge number! Almost half are related to children’s music, of course. Mostly, I enjoy this easy way of keeping up-to-date with friends who are near and far.
YAB (Yet Another Blog)
I’ve had too many people tell me that they can’t figure out which blog is my “real” blog. There are a few issues:1. I like to start blogs more than I like to maintain them.2. Each blog host has a different set of features that I like. I wish one blog company would have them
It’s the End
of NaBloPoMo. Now the question is, do I continue on with Holidailies? Maybe. Things are going to get busy this month, though. We don’t have any trips planned, but I am not against considering last minute trips. Oh, well, Chloe and I are probably going to Columbia, SC, on Saturday, but that’s less then four
