We headed down to the Fox Theatre today to see Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby. Chloe insisted that we stay after the show so she could get to meet the famous Olympic gymnast!

Camille had two friends over this weekend. Both named Claire. It got confusing. Thankfully, we named Camille “Camille” and not “Claire”.

The five (us plus a friend) of us headed down the block to meet the family of Chloe’s friend at Swirlin’ Twirlin’ for dessert. We stayed for a couple hours! It was so nice to get out and get to know some people in Decatur better.

The day was a nice day other than the twenty minutes that I *had* to go out to take Chloe to gymnastics. During that time, it poured so much that the streets flooded.

Chloe and I were both cranky, so I dragged her out to the pool for a swim before books and bed. And it helped us to both reset our moods. Whew.

Chloe headed back to the dentist today and had her spacer installed. Poor thing. It is really not very nice looking, AND she can’t eat sticky food for a couple years ….

The construction continues here at home. I sure hope that they’ll finish up soon.

Thought Chloe is back in school, it is still very much summer, and we were glad to have a nice evening to spend at the pool.

As part of Camille’s GA History studies, we visited the Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site today.

With all the extremely loud noise on the outside of our walls, Gazoo has spent most of her days underneath my bed. I kind of wish I could join her there to escape it. But it will be done soon, I sure hope.

We had to leave home at 6:25am to get Chloe to the bus stop on time. But this year there’s a whole crowd of kids at Chloe’s stop !!
first day of school
The summer went by far, far too fast. I can’t believe that it is time to turn Chloe back over to the system. Last year was pretty awful, and I just hope that all will go well for Chloe this year. At last night’s “meet and greet” she was so excited to be back at

This “Raw Milk for Pets” sign looks completely out of place in from of the ATM by Commerce. But, then again, the ATM looks completely out of place when it is in the middle of the Wednesday afternoon farmers’ market.

Rob put up the shelves. We haven’t yet made prints to put in the frames we bought so we tore the covers off of some of the New Yprkers and created art for the picture rails. Camille liked one so much that it might just stay!

The painting is done. Now onto a towel rack and framed photos and accent tchotchkes (I love that word :)….

Rob and Chloe did most of the taping earlier today, then Camille and I got started with the painting in the bathroom — color is coming at last!

This evening, we headed out to Home Depot to get the supplies and paint for painting the girls’ bathroom. I can’t wait to get started!

Chloe had a great day – gymnastics went well and then she got to go kayaking with Rob in the evening…

Some friends came over this evening for a simple dinner by the pool and a nice long swim. I’m sorry to see summer ending so soon.
