We had a terrible, no-good, awful day with Phelix today. He had FOUR accidents. He was too rough with Chloe. He would run away from me whenever I went to put the leash on him. I found myself seriously questioning getting a dog. How do people manage?? I sure hope that the training will help

Phelix did pretty well today. We signed him up for dog training in hopes that we can help him learn to and not to do a number of different things in order to make it a little easier for us to all live together.

The mill at Sweetwater Creek State Park is lovely! Burned down in the Civil War, it is still an amazing landwark. I’d love to be bale to capture it in photo or paint or pencil!

Today, Rob, Camille and I took a tour of the high school. While I’m not excited about the lack of individualization in the classes, Camille loved the looks of the classrooms for the electives…. we’ll see.

Phelix is not a big fan of “work”. He gets the sad puppy eyes when I sit down at my work computer …. he’ll figure it out eventually, right?

Gazoo is S..L..O..W..L..Y adjusting to having a puppy in the house, but then had a setback after going to the vet today. At the moment, the puppy is on a walk, so she’s ventured out to her favorite spot on the counter. If only she’d realize HE CAN’T reach her there. She could stay there

Phelix learned about Petco, the little dog park and the Decatur Square today. Big day for a little dog!

Camille and I headed home to Pine Lake this evening for the annual Cookie Exchange/Lighting of the Lake. Every time I pull into Pine Lake, I get this wonderful feeling of being “home”.

Tonight we went over to the shelter to meet a puppy that sounds like a nice fit for our family. He’s a cutie pie and we think maybe he’s going to be our puppy soon.

This evening, we all headed over to Little Shop of Stories along with the rest of Decatur to see the tree light up … it even “snowed”!

Last year, Camille and I enjoyed our weekly lunches at various restaurants in Decatur. We tried to go to a different place each week, but then fell out of the habit. This week, we started up again, eating at Cafe Alsace for the first time. Yum!

Gazoo doesn’t love heading in the car, but she’s actually a good roadtripper. We’ve taken her to Texas a couple times and the cabin a bunch of times. She explores the car and often settles down to sleep in a seat or even on my shoulder.

This morning we headed down to the Blue Ridge Tuba Christmas. Barbara played her euphonium with a group of people of all ages and from all over. Always fun, but colder than ever in this year’s temporary location.

I read in the AJC that today is a holiday in Georgia for Gen Robert E Lee. Since he and I share a birthday, it must be my birthday too! Though I didn’t get the brownies I requested, I did get a little birthday snack complete with candles and song!
