Summer on Southport, Day 1
Lunch Money, ScribbleMonster, Little Nashville and Justin Roberts!!!
The Bad Examples
Rob and I had a great time last night going to the Red Light Cafe to hear music from Ralph Covert’s (aka Ralph’s World) more “mature” band, The Bad Examples. I had a great time, and sure wish more folks had turned out. However, I can see that for parents, going out to an adult
Dance Party
On Saturday, the girls and I went to Baby Loves Disco here in Atlanta. I had mixed feelings about going. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the calendar was filled with Earth Day activities. But we went into a dark loft with loud music, a disco ball and bubbles. While there is probably a
Chocolate’s Been Around Since 600BC
At least, that’s what one of our favorite bands, ScribbleMonster, tells us in the title song of their CD “Chocolate Milk”. I wonder if there were chocolate Easter eggs way back then? Here’s a video of ScribbleJim performing “Chocolate Milk” in Brooklyn last month. My poor video skills don’t do him justice. (And no, that
can’t go too long without …
a Ralph fix. He played here in Atlanta this weekend, so it was an easy one to get! The show was great, the venue was very nice and we had a wonderful time. Thanks Ralph — Come back soon!
Cinematograhpy
Okay, I have tons to learn, but here goes my first attempt:
house party time
It was another big party! Lots of food, lots of music, lots of fun.
chloe likes music
Okay, so maybe this photo makes it seem like she doesn’t, but she does really. She had a good time at the Lunch Money concert in Columbia, SC, today. She dance and got dizzy. She talked about the band and that there were three people in it and listed the instruments that they each played.
jamarama live!
We went to see Milkshake, Farmer Jason, Buck Howdy and Lazytown perform today at the Roxy Theater.
we spared the rock
I’m sure most of you already listen, but if you don’t, you need to listen to all the great music and fun conversation over at Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child. Today the girls and I had the chance to meet Spare the Rock co-host Bill. The girls felt like they’d known him a long
hobbies
How do you come into your hobbies? I sort of fell into children’s music…I cannot claim that I was/am a music afficiando. When we started our children’s music station this summer, I did not imagine where it would take us! The girls love to sample new music and tell me what they like and don’t
Fids and Kamily
Have you heard the news? Not yet? Well, go have a look at the Fids and Kamily – Kids and Family Music Awards. The votes are due tomorrow, but we’ve submitted ours tonight. There were so many great albums from which to choose, that we had a really hard time picking our favorites!
ralph’s world
To round out our trip to DC, we went to see Ralph’s World perform at National Geographic. It was a wonderful show as always, but it was missing that added spark that Tommy provides. Poor Tom’s back went out and he just couldn’t make it. Get Well Soon, Tom!
scribblemonster
Today we drove to Washington, DC to see ScribbleMonster perform live at XM Radio! The show was tons of fun, and our host Mindy was super friendly and wonderful with the kids. It was wonderful to meet ScribbleJim in person, too! Thanks all for a great show!
laughing pizza
Yesterday we went to hear “Laughing Pizza” perform. How often does a kid get to enjoy live music, chocolate milk and Pottery Barn Kids toys all at the same time?
ralpheads at disney
Yep, we’re at it again! Ralph Rocks at Disney MGM!
another ralpheads roadtrip
No, this isn’t Ralph, but we did see some other stars hanging out near the theater where Ralph performed.
ralpheads roadtrip
Yep, we’re at it again! Ralph Rocks!
our radio station
The radio station is coming along great! I still don’t have a great procedure for updating, but I am working on it. We tried to change some songs every day, but I’d like to change the whole playlist every day if I can figure out how to do it efficiently. Live365 broadcast GooneyBird Blog
