The City Never Sleeps
After our busy morning, we took a short break, then headed across the street from the hotel to head to our main event, STINK, the second annual gathering of kindie rockers in Brooklyn. (The first annual gathering last year was in the same place and very fun, although crowded.) It was tons of fun to
Lunch Money
Today we headed out to see the final show in the Popcorn Music Series at The Melting Point in Athens. It is a fantastic venue; I sure wish we had something as cool as that closer to home! The band this month was Lunch Money. We’ve gone to see them perform in South Carolina, Brooklyn,
Kill Amanda
If you’ve known me for longer than a couple of hours, you probably know that I am a huge Ralph’s World fan. We’ve been huge fans since earlier than Jan 2003 when we first heard him play at the Borders in Buckhead. Since then, we have seen him perform live many, many times in something
Dedication A Go-Go
A couple of weeks ago, I headed over to Athens (Georgia, that is) to a kids’ music concert. By myself. Is this a sneak peak at my future? As the girls get older and I still enjoy the “kindie scene,” will I be taking more and more trips on my own? No matter, I enjoyed
XMKids
As is not uncommon around here, I started a new blog a couple of weeks ago. This time one about XMKids. We got XM as a Christmas present to ourselves this year, and the girls and I have really enjoyed listening in. The new blog is at http://xmkidsfans.blogspot.com/.
Uncle Rock in Concert
I’ve not been able to keep up. Between my back hurting, Christmas preparations (including hosting 50+ people at our house for the Pine Lake Progressive Dinner on Saturday), and work, I’ve not had much energy left for taking pictures and writing in blogland. Yesterday, we drove to Athens to see Uncle Rock perform. We all
Dan Zanes
What a week! Two of “kindie rock’s” superstars came to Atlanta this week. And we were lucky enough to go to both concerts and talk to both performers…. Next week brings yet another great concert; stay tuned! The DZ concert was fantastic. The audience started out quite reserved, but eventually lost whatever was holding them
Chloe Loves Laurie!
Yesterday we went to see The Laurie Berkner Band perform at Symphony Hall. Chloe has loved Laurie since we first got Buzz Buzz a couple of years ago. A friend of ours got us backstage passes to go meet Laurie after the show, which was really, really cool! More photos of the show are here.
Athens (Georgia, that is)
On Sunday afternoon, we went over to Athens. I had been close to Athens before, but not really in the city, and I was quite impressed! Everyone seemed quite down-to-earth and friendly. We saw Pam Blanchard and the Sunny Side Up Band perform at The Melting Point, a very awesome venue. We look forward to
Road Trip
The girls and I headed up to Washington DC for an XM Kids Rumpus Room concert. We got to see one of our favorites, The Hipwaders! While there, we went to the Postal Museum, Union Station, many Smithsonian Museums on the Mall and stayed at L’Enfant Plaza! It was a great weekend, and we can’t
With Roger Day
Today we drove to Birmingham to see Roger Day perform. We all had a great time hearing him perform live for the first time!
New Logo
I spent a little time today trying to design a new logo for the radio station. While I’m still not thrilled with this one, I like it a lot better than the old one….
Musical Day
We drove up to the Mall of Georgia to see Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could perform today. While there, we ran into two members of another band we really like Lunch Money. How cool is that! And even better, the concert was outside, so we didn’t even have to go inside the
Lessons
After meaning to do it for over a year, I finally started asking about guitar lessons. I think I will be able to have one or two quite soon, and I am really excited! Time for these instruments to stop being decorations and start making music! Chloe has a plan that we will start a
More Austin Kiddie Limits
After three days of music festival, I am tired!! It’s been go go go , and we still need to go home … Here’s Camille with her Aunt Suze and Luis at Austin City Limits today.
Austin Kiddie Limits
The girls are having tons of fun at the festival.
A Lovely Lunch
We headed out to IKEA to meet up with a woman whose blog I read daily, The Lovely Mrs Davis Tells You What to Think. She and I don’t see eye-to-eye on many things, but I love her perspective. And of course, as usual, when I’m meeting someone new, I rambled on and on and

Kids’ Music In Atlanta
The old “Kids in Atlanta” blog was just not in the right place, so I’ve moved it to be ont he same account as this one. http://kidsmusicinatlanta.blogspot.com/ Don’t hesitate to send us any news for it!
