little disaster.
Phizzy (the big disaster) turned one earlier this week. And Benny turned TWO yesterday. To celebrate, he pushed Rob’s tablet onto the floor and shattered the screen. He’s a pest, but we love the little disaster anyway.
birthday girl!
Phizzy is now one! Look how much she has grown since we got her in October!
the shrinking bed.
Phizzy just doesn’t understand why her bed at the Decatur house keeps shrinking….
doggy dreams.
No … I’m not dreaming of another puppy (I’m sure Rob is happy to hear that….). But my puppies dream. What do they dream about? They run, they bark. their eyes move rapidly. What is going on? I wish I had a translator like the one in “UP” that could tell me if it is
phizzy’s four!
Phelicity is 4 months old! She’s getting so big! Phelix is starting to accept her, and the two are trying to figure out how to play together in the yard. Benny and Phizzy have epic wrestling matches. Phizzy isn’t a fan of going for walks and runs to me whenever something scares her. She hates
oh, the wait ….
Phelix just could not wait for Christmas! Chloe had piles of presents to wrap in her room. Twice Phelix snuck in there and took off with his gift. An then finally, the wait was over!! Unfortunately, Santa was very quickly decapitated by this rough and tumble boy of ours… he is not gentle with his
taking photos.
The other day, Chloe remarked that I used to *always* carry a camera with me … it’s true. Actually I used to carry 2-3 cameras with me! These days, I’ve gotten lazy and just use my phone. But I miss taking photos. So I got out the ol’ DSLR and will be making more of
my boy.
Feeling awful, icky, gross today. Oftentimes, women can’t admit to having those days, because we are then labeled as the “weaker” sex. I admit, there is a day or two in my cycle when I am achy and miserable and not quite at the top of my game. Thankfully this month that day came on
happy birthday!
Of course we have no idea what their birthdays actually are, but we declared July 4th as Gazoo’s birthday based on the vet’s estimate. And then When Phelix joined the family 5 years later, he was also thought to have been born in July, so we gave him a July 4th birthday as well. Gazoo
she’s a mess.
But only when I accidentally buy the wrong food…. Gazoo kitty gets a half a can of wet food each day to help her kidneys — she’s really picky about her drinking water and never gets enough, no matter what we do. Her water bowl is on the counter next to the sink so it
phelix files: temperament test
For Chloe’s spring break, we are headed out of town (travelin’, travelin’!). But Phelix the dog doesn’t get to join us, poor duppy. So what to do? We thought about a pet sitter, but he’s such a social dog that be awfully lonely staying home all by himself — except for Gazoo, who won’t give
phelix files: week 10
What a week fo Phelix! It started out a bit boring at first, but on Thursday, he GRADUATED! He still has a lot of work to do on many of his commands, but he’s come a long, long way. He is getting better and better about not having accidents and “dropping” things that he picks
phelix files: week 9
This has been a week of ups and downs for Phelix. On Tuesday, Phelix apparently pooped in the lobby while Rob was looking the other way. After a reprimand from the condo manager, I was so embarrassed I could barely bring myself to showing my face downstairs again. But mistakes are made, right? So we
phelix files: week 8
Slowly but surely, Phelix is learning. He still barks, but he’s barking less. He still pees in the house sometimes, but not quite as much. He did very well at his fourth doggie class, too. This week, Phelix got to go on a long walk to our friends’ house where he played in the fenced
phelix files: week 7
Phelix went to his very first kids’ music concert this week! He loved seeing all the kids, but started to get bored by then end, unfortunately. Phelix insists on meeting every single person that comes into the condo. If he doesn’t get to meet someone, he barks and barks and barks. Speaking of barking, he
phelix files: week 6
Phelix ran his first 5K! Distracted as he was, I think he came in last, or close to last. He had a great time, no matter what! He loved grabbing a bagel at the end — but was too tired to walk all the way home after the race. Phelix had his second dog training
phelix files: week 5
On New Year’s Eve, Phelix had a bath, that stinky boy, and went into town to use his Christmas present at the pet store — his mom and big sis picked out a brand new sweater for him. He wasn’t thrilled about staying up until midnight to ring in the New Year, but ring it
phelix files: week 4
At the start of the week, Phelix decided to poop right in the middle of the biggest intersection in town (Church and Commerce) just before the light was about to change. I did not pooper-scoop, sorry. A minute later, the poop had all but disappeared. Phelix had a great time shredding wrapping paper on Christmas!!
Phelix Files : Week 3
For the past week, Phelix has been either “walking” on his leash, playing in the dog park, sleeping in his crate, struggling in our arms or hanging out in his “pen”. THankfully, I am no longer feeling like I’m about to have a nervous breakdown. The pen truly has saved my sanity. And perhaps Phelix’s
