summer projects.
Each year when summer approaches, I put together a list of all the projects I want to accomplish while school is out and activities are slower. And I always over-estimate the time that we will have to accomplish it all. “I’m not really traveling this summer; I’ll have lots of time!” While the house is
knitting: project 3 complete!
It has been a couple of months since I finished my second hat. Why did it take me so long to finish the third hat? Oh well, I’m not knitting to be speedy but to have a way to relax.
create: an update on 2016.
My theme for 2016 is CREATE. I haven’t quite made as much progress as I would have liked, but I am making progress…. For photography, I have taken a few classes, purchased a new lens, and was doing well at taking more interesting photos until I took my break (after spring break). For cooking, I’ve
knitting: project 2 complete!
A few weeks ago I finished my first knitting project of this year, and just yesterday I finished my second one! It is another hat, just like the other one, but much, much better. Many fewer mistakes. And using smaller needles for the brim really helped. I guess next week I have to go back
knitting: project 1 complete!
A few weeks ago I stopped by the knitting store for my first official lesson. After a lot of mistakes, some help from Camille, and a wonky way to finish the top, my first project, my first hat is now complete! I went back to Needle Nook this week and decided that I want to
knitting lessons: week 1
Now that my Photo 2 class has wrapped up, I’ve taken on a new CREATE project, knitting. I’ve started to knit multiple times in the past, but have never taken a class nor a lesson. I decided that if I *really* want to learn, I need to do something a little more formal. So I
creativity.
While my “Create” year isn’t scheduled until 2016, that doesn’t mean that I can’t start now, right? Creating might not be my focus for 2015 and thus not my top priority, but I’m going to open myself up to creating already. I’ve held myself back for so long because “I’m not good enough.” But to
pinterest – evil or inspiring??
Today, despite my still feeling under the weather and our plan to get packed up for a trip (we have TAHT down to a science), the girls and I ran out to Michaels and Target…. Not because we needed anything (though we did get things for our trip), but because, against my will, I got
necklace – 19 aug 2011
Chloe made her new necklace all by herself; she’s been in a crafty mood lately!
knitter’s tools – 22 jul 2011
The essentials : yarn, needles and an iPad. Camille is working on knitting a Gooney Bird for an idea I’m working on for our kids’ music blog. I can’t wait to see it!
camboodle – 19 apr 2011
Camille has finished two more pouches and will be listing them soon on Camboodle.
sheep to shawl – 16 apr 2011
We headed from STITCHES South to “Sheep to Shawl” at the Atlanta History Center — a very fiber-y day! We watched the sheep being sheared, too some of the wool, washed it and carded it too!
Camille takes charge
A little less than a year and a half ago, Camille picked up knitting needles for the very first time. Little did I know that she would become not only the owner of an Etsy store (Camboodle) but also, from what I’ve seen, the youngest attendee at STITCHES South by at least fifteen or twenty
stitches – 15 apr 2011
Camille’s idea of a “candy store”!!
camille – 3 apr 2011
Camille’s new “Spin Off” magazine came this weekend, and she celebrated by spinning strips of tissue paper using her drop spindle.
camboodle – 13 mar 2011
Well, we tried to get more pouches up on Camille’s Etsy site. But first the SD card broke. And then her computer got a virus. Hopefully she’ll be able to get all these pouches listed soon!!
camboodle – 8 mar 2011
Last night, Camille and I set up her Camboodle Etsy store. And she’s already sold three pouches! She still has about eight more to list, but taking photos and writing descriptions is time-consuming, so she’s only adding about four a day right now. I am sure it will slow down soon, but boy this has
camboodle – 7 mar 2011
Camille and I have been working out the details for months, and now she finally has an Etsy store, called Camboodle. So far, she’s put just a few pouches up there, but there’s more to come.
camboodle is here!
(Proud mama alert.) In the time it took me to complete a scarf (Hagrid-sized, however) with knit only (no purling here), Camille has managed to learn how to knit just about anything. In the eighteen months since she first picked up her needles, she’s made hats, socks, bags and more. She’s learned to wet felt,
Somebody’s Watching Me
Between this video from caspar babypants (aka Chris Ballew from The Presidents of the United States of America)) and Absolutely Mindy‘s wacky ideas, Chloe has been obsessed with obtaining a package of googly eyes. Finally, Rob bought her some the other day. I was sitting at the dining room table, working on Christmas cards yesterday,
