Despite how not-so-good our feelings about Chloe’s school are at the moment, we are doing our best to participate in “Teacher Appreciation Week”. I’m not feeling very appreciative tight now, but don’t feel like we have any choice but to feign appreciation. At least the leftover flowers look nice on my table.

For the next two weeks, Yelp’s Passport to Decatur Square! will be participated in by a number of places around the square. Rob and I went over to the kick-off last night, but there were fewer restaurants participating than I had hoped. And 2 of the 3 food samples were of the meat variety…
i can see a glimmer of light
The month of April had us at home for about ten days; we first went on spring break, then to the Bahamas for my sister’s wedding and then to NYC for Kindiefest. Of course, we’ve had months where we were home for fewer days than that, but somehow re-entry has been more challenging than ever.

Camille had a down day today. She did go to an author talk at Little Shop that inspired her a bit, but most of the day she stayed around the house working on her various projects.

It was a Decatur day. We walked everywhere we needed to go. In the evening we went to see an author talk at Little Shop and then headed to the square for a bit of the concert.

It seems like it has been forever since the last time it rained. I was so ecstatic that I actually rearranged the living room in order to get the best view of the falling drops.

Sometimes I miss working in the garden. I don’t miss the hard, packed clay that we call “dirt”. I don’t miss the weeds. I do miss the feeling of accomplishment, though. I’ll just have to find it elsewhere. And I’ll sit back and enjoy the lovely courtyard that I get to walk through every day

I spent most of the day shuttling kids around, so I’m now working very late in the day. And I have company…. She isn’t impressed by the bugs I’m finding, however.

Our trip to JFK from Manhattan went so smoothly that we had over an hour to kill after we got through security. Camille and I returned to the restaurant we ate at last year on our way home from Kindiefest. We enjoyed the downtime immensely.

Of all of the friends that we got to hang out with at Kindiefest this year, I think we’ve known Ralph the longest. We first met him over 9 years now … he was our very first kindie musician! In those nine years he’s been to our house; we’ve been to his. And Camille has

After arriving at our least favorite gate at JFK (seriously), Gooney Bird found a great seat on the AirTrain: A long trip on the A train brought us to Downtown Brooklyn and a very short line at tckts where we got tickets for Phantom of the Opera: After dropping our backpacks at the hotel, we
