daily photo: tired puppy
Phelix was exhausted afther his first 5K. He couldn’t even walk all the way back home!!
hometown saturday: quirky
Each time I go out for a walk in Decatur, I spot something a tad bit quirky. I suppose by now it shouldn’t surprise, but it still does! Want to share a photo from a hometown of your this week? Link up below! Please share a link back to this page in your post to
daily photo: pizza
Friday night is often pizza night here at our house — and Camille makes great homemade pizzas!!
photo friday: waterworks
Last weekend, after our “birding trip” to Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve, we then headed to Mason Mill Park and the Decatur Waterworks. With old crumblings walls decoratively painted with spray paint, it is a lovely “free-range” style playground for the kids. We really must go back soon and bring Pheilx the Dog with us!! This
daily photo: phelix
Again, Phelix with his “bone” walking to the bus — he just loves seeing the bus coming down the street, bringing his girl back home to him!
daily photo: phelix
Phelix has gotten into the habit of going to meet Chloe’s bus each afternoon. We’ve found that giving him a “bone” to chew on as he walks distracts him a bit from eating all the trash on the sidewalks….
things i like: my new camera strap
For years now, I’ve wanted a longer camera strap. Being “well endowed” and ALSO loving to take “from the hip” photos, the straps that come with camera bodies are far too constraining for me. Looking for solutions for this problem, I found one that makes me very, very happy…. Camera Strap – Fun Striped Print
daily photo: waiting
“Chloe the bored.” She does not idle well. Entertaining her on long flights (think ATL > Japan), long car trips or even waiting in line at the store has been a constant challenge. But this week, she rocked the long wait at the doctor. Not only did she entertain herself, she entertained me. She even
waiting, waiting
At 1pm, I had finished work, crossed a couple things off of my to do list, taken the dog out for a “business” walk and put him in his crate. I “flew” (while respecting speed limits, of course) down to Oakhurst. Chloe’s class was S…L..O…W in coming in from recess. We swung by the B&G
daily photo: homework
Chloe had her first homework since getting back to school after the break and had a hard time settling in to get it done. Eventually, it and all her chores were done, thankfully.
celebrations – week 1 (Jan 1-7)
As I wrote in resolutions and traditions and celebrations, oh my1 , I’d like to start taking a little more time for celebrations. The girls love them, and having a guide helps me try out new recipes and do more off-line crafts. This week, we managed to celebrate a number of “holidays” even with the
daily photo: galette du rois
Camille made this lovely “Galette du Rois” today and promises that she found the “king” by chance!
phelix files: week 5
On New Year’s Eve, Phelix had a bath, that stinky boy, and went into town to use his Christmas present at the pet store — his mom and big sis picked out a brand new sweater for him. He wasn’t thrilled about staying up until midnight to ring in the New Year, but ring it
daily photo: waterworks
Despite having lived within a few miles of this place for over a decade, today was the first time I’ve been to Mason Mill Park and the historic waterworks. Phelix is going to love it!
hometown saturday: nature preserves
This weekend, I asked my mom if she would take the girls on a short birding adventure for National Bird Day. On the suggestion of another birder, she suggested Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve. Despite being just a couple miles from our house, I’d never been — though Rob did once take the girls. I look
daily photo: gazoo
While Phelix was out on a walk this afternoon, Gazoo decided to check out his very messy pen to see if she could learn more about this noisy creature who has invaded her quiet home.
photo friday: snow in blue ridge
While we were up in Blue Ridge for our traditional New Year’s Eve celebrations, we had a bit of a surprise — SNOW! Given the warm temperatures we’ve been having, I had assumed that we would not see any white stuff in Georgia this winter. While the snow was barely more than a dusting and
daily photo: decatur “art”
There is “art” everywhere you look in Decatur …
daily photo: 14 words
Sigh. I was very sad to learn what this means — I was hoping that it was something positive….
things i like: deathly hallows necklace
I’ve been wanting this “Xenophilious Lovegood” necklace for years. I was not thrilled with the idea of getting it from a company in China. THen I remembered Etsy! Yes, Etsy… Witha little surfing, I found an artisan in Texas who makes the necklace I wanted — I spent a little more, but I don’t mind.
