blue ridge: apple picking
The other day, I surprised by a post on Facebook from Mercier Orchards that they would have apple picking this weekend. I tend to equate apples with fall, and, despite the girls being back in school, this is not fall. Not at all. We took our chances with the weather and headed out. $10 to

A morning of work and school. Rob took the car to pick up the tickets I won, which turned out to be baseball tickets. I cleaned up around the house then the storms rolled in. Rob tried to get the girls from school, but it got complicated. Once we all were home, we relaxed and

MODA: Design for Social Impact
While I feel negligent for not having made it to Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) earlier, I’m glad we made it when we did. I had in my mind that I needed to get the girls to the Design for Social Impact exhibit, but I also had it in my mind that it was closing

misc thoughts on back-to-school
Last year, the girls when the girls headed “back-to-school” it was actually Camille’s first time ever going to school, so not really “back” for her. I have dreams of getting “so much done” now that school is back in session. Of course, I had dreams of getting “so much done” once school was out for

don’t have time for this
How many times have I said this over the past 10 years? I cannot even count the times… Over the past couple of years, I’ve been working hard to finish up projects, transfer projects, move on. Just to give myself a little bit of breathing room. Find the things that truly are worth my time.

I got up early and worked on my projects. The girls and I then headed to the Freedom Park Farmer’s Market and a very crowded IKEA. At home, we unpacked everything, then went to the Back to School celebration at Souper Jenny’s. Camille made chocolate chip cookies, and we finished watching the “Grand Budapest Hotel”.
happiness project: exercise + misc (aug)
Simplify and Prepare, Project 43 and the monthly projects in my Happiness Project … so many projects! In reality, they are all facets of the same project, guiding me to finish or give up old projects and move forward on the ones that are most important to me. July’s main theme was Work. As it

photo friday: ancient athens
Apart from the obvious main attraction of the Parthenon, Athens is full of ancient sites. We spent our two days exploring many of the various places, such as Hadrian’s Arch, the Theater of Dionysus, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora and the Roman Agora. All are within easy walking distance of
