Project 41: June Goals
As I wrote just a few days after my 41st birthday, I have a list of goals for this coming year. Other than the big diet one, I thought that the goals are fairly attainable, especially since they weren’t specific. This was intentional; I wanted to concentrate on the main goal (losing weight) and slowly advance on the others.
Unfortunately I had a couple of months of feeling constantly low-energy, “under the weather”. And once some of the energy started to return, I had a crazy April that I’ve only just recovered from.
So, now that I can consider it once again, I’m returning to my Project 41, but with a few changes.
As a start, this week I returned to the low-carb eating that gave me so much energy last year. I’m still a vegetarian at the moment, so I need to be creative so I don’t get bored and so I can maintain the low-carb plan while traveling. If I start planning NOW, maybe I can make it work on the few short trips that we have planned for the summer….
June goals:
- Diet: Stick to the low-carb diet and lose about ten pounds. Be sure to plan ahead for any trips, stocking up on low carb foods that travel well.
- Photography: This is on hold at the moment while I finish up my fire academy class. Maybe I’ll start looking into a course mid-June for later this summer or the fall.
- Travel: Too much back-to-back travel took its toll on me. So I need to be clever with how I keep up while traveling. So far, our plans are to take a trip to St. Louis and fill it with fun. Possibly take a trip to Texas and also spend at least one weekend at the cabin.
- Walking: Slowly increase my steps per day, getting at least 50K steps a week. Do my walking video at least 2x a week.
- Clothes: Hold off on this goal for a little while as the weight is coming off. Forgive me my grunge.
- Health: Floss every day. Go to the dentist. Make doctor and eye doctor appointments by the end of October.
I’ll review progress again at the end of June.
