National Building Museum
A new day, a new DC museum! Today we headed out to the National Building Museum. I’d been a long time ago and heard that kids enjoy it, so we decided to give it a try. As we entered, we were greeted with the pandemonium of the preparation for a big gala, the March dinner of the NRCC (National Republican Congressional Committee).
We visited the various exhibits. One was on new ideas for greener communitities, which was really interesting for us all. Another described the development of DC over the years, which the girls also really enjoyed. We had a really nice lunch from the cafe (fruit, egg salad sandwiches, Orangina), and then went to an exhibit about highway side overlooks/rest stops in Denmark, before going in to the play area. The girls loved building with all the various construction toys that were there. There was also a really cool playhouse that the girls set up as their own. As they played, they also cleaned up and organized the messes that everyone else left behind. That’s my girls!
