Please Touch!
After we left Independence National Historic Park on Sunday, we walked west along Market street. It’s a busy street of stores and indoor malls, not as appealing as the streets we walked on the day before. However, we stopped in at the Reading Terminal Market, which was a really cool market.
We left there, heading towards the Please Touch Museum. Apparently, I hadn’t been paying much attention, because as Rob looked at the travel book, he pointed out that the listing said that the museum “would be moving.” And sure enough, it was nowhere near us. To get there as fast as possible, the girls and I jumped in a taxi and Rob walked back to the hotel to get the rental car and drive over there to meet us.
The museum is a great place for little kids. Chloe is probably at the upper end of the age range, but she had a good time. At first, she was not happy because she lacks assertiveness and would prefer to let a kid push her out of the way than stand up for herself. But then she relaxed and found her own things to do that didn’t involve line jumpers, and she had fun. The water room was neat as was the room for making foam gliders. The cityscape and grocery store were fun, but a bit on the chaotic side. I wish the museum had been just a bit bigger, personally. But the girls had a good time, and we’re happy we went and experienced it.
