farm box.
At the start of the year, we decided to participate in a pseudo-CSA.
In the past, we’ve gone with a CSA (community supported agriculture) plan, but I ended up with more eggplant and okra than what I could palate (that means more than none).
We decided to subscribe to Moore Farms because not only did they promise no eggplant and no okra (yeah!), but also because we could skip ordering (and paying) for weeks that we didn’t want a box. And because on the weeks we did order, we could add items like eggs, yogurt, tofu, soap, flowers basil, and more.
Overall, I’ve been happy with our box — we pick it up at Sawicki’s, a deli across the street, each week. There have been times when I had more cabbage or radishes than I knew what to do with, but this week we had tomatoes, blueberries, corn, beets, and other easily manageable fruits and veggies.
I also like that I get an excuse to go to Sawicki’s once a week, where I pick up a bakery treat, a baguette, or a deli item.
