Chloe felt better and headed off to school. I worked during the morning, then took care of a few other things in the afternoon. Camille and Claire came home after school, then I went to get Chloe from the gym. We had a simple dinner; Rob came home late.
good-bye, evie.
This past weekend while I was in Ohio, our beloved Evie went to live with a new family. She’s going to be missed. But it was time. We only had Evie with us for a little over three years, but those were fun times that we had with her! Back in 2011, we decided that

Storms took out power in much of Decatur, so Chloe’s testing was cancelled. Her back was hurting, so she stayed home from school. I worked all day. In the evening, we made dinner. Rob and the girls went out for dessert while I cleaned up and walked the dog.
weekend in wauseon
This past weekend, I headed off on a rare trip – one on which I did nothing. I made no decisions. I don’t know when I’ve ever had a couple of hours like that, much less a couple of days like that! I flew up to Detroit and met my aunt and uncle who took

Breakfast at the hotel. A bit of a relaxing morning, then Susannah and I left for the airport. After we returned the car, I had a couple of hours to sit and read at the airport. Trip home was uneventful. I had some pasta with Chloe’s homemade pesto for dinner before falling asleep.

pre-conceived notions
Living in Atlanta, I’ve been flying Delta almost exclusively for years now. On the rare occasion that I’ve flown another airline, I haven’t bothered adding my frequent flier number because, well, I’m not a frequent flier anymore and definitely not on that airline. Earlier this month, I had the happy opportunity to fly on, in

rough re-entry
We’ve been home for over a week now. I should have been fully caught up and back in the swing of things days ago. But I’m still struggling. Last week, I took naps. Many, looong naps. I just couldn’t move. It was like I had the flu again, but without the fever. The combination of

Up early for school and work. In the afternoon, I worked on some of my projects then took two training classes, one for the Red Cross and one for Police CAPS; great to have them crossed off my list! Chloe stayed after school for a poetry slam meeting. Rob went to empty out Evie. Camille

School and work. Chloe didn’t feel well enough to go to gymnastics, so we went to Kroger instead. At home, we worked on cleaning up all around the house. We made homemade pizzas for dinner and then got to work on dyeing eggs. I still feel awful – maybe allergies?

Our trip to Oakland Cemetery last month was at an ideal time of year. Early spring. Not too hot, yet warm. And the flowers, oh the flowers in bloom!
