School and work. In the early afternoon, I took Phelix out for a hike at Arabia Mountain. Later, I did carpool to the gym and some errands. Camille got home early and gave Phelix a bath, then helped make dinner. We worked on trip preparations during the evening.
celebrations: week 14 (31 mar – 6 apr 2014)
I’ve not been keeping up with the holidays very well at the moment, so we ended up not celebrating a single one of the fundays this week! Maybe I can sneal in a couple this week before we leave town. Coming up this week: 31: Bunsen Burner Day and Baseball Opening Day 1: April Fools’

Getting things done! The girls and I stayed local and walked to complete a number of errands in preparation for the trip. I continued to go through my list of things to get done, checking off one item at a time, slowly getting closer to being ready to go. Rob went boating and then to

After a slow morning, we headed out to do some final shopping for our trip. On the way to Target and REI, we stopped at the Bagel Palace for breakfast. Back at home, we cleaned up, then Rob and Chloe went skating. In the evening, Camille went out to go babysitting. Rob worked on our

Rainy morning. Girls begged for a ride to school, but I held my ground. It takes them no more than 20 minutes to walk, but would take me at least 40 minutes to drive them as morning commute through Decatur in the rain can be quite congested, especially around the tracks. I worked during the
photo friday: edisto island aka The Beach
My final photo Friday from winter break at Edisto Island. I guess it is now time for us to head back to the beach!

hairspray!
One of the (many) reasons that we decided for Camille to head off to school this year after years of homeschooling was to have a chance to participate in more extracurricular activities. Soon after the start of the school year, she joined the drama club and then the crew of the spring production, assisting with

School and work as usual. In the afternoon, Camille and I walked down to Fabu to have our brows waxed. I drove over to the gym to get Chloe, we picked up groceries for dinner, and I mailed of my Fitbit for the recall. At home, I made quesadillas and we worked on trip planning.
new car!
Back in the summer when Chloe was born (2002), my five year old Passat was suffering from issues that had us at the repair shop weekly. The troubles were somewhere in the electrical system, and no amount of diagnosing helped. The AC would only work at traffic lights. The battery would be dead for no

Work and school. Chloe’s pants didn’t meet dress code, so I had to run a pair over to Renfroe for her. The internet was up and down all day long, and I was frustrated and falling further and further behind on what I needed to get done. The girls came home just before 5; Chloe
volunteering: red cross – office worker
While I haven’t been out on a “DAT response” to a fire in some time, I have actually spent three afternoons at the main office learning how I can assist there. While I do hope to go to fires on occasion, I finally realized the unpredictability and the six-hour shifts of being on call doesn’t

School and work. The cleaning folks came, which drove Phelix crazy. I drove the new car to do carpool and errands and didn’t hit anything! Chloe had gymnastics, and Camille took her Greek Mythology exam. An evening at home trying to get through our list of things that need to get done.

Early morning for bike registrations with the Decatur Police. Then off to buy a new car and sell the red wagon that has carried us so far for so long. How for alittle while. Camille went to the play, Rob and Chloe went to a party, then we went to see “Hairspray”.

A morning of school and work. Carpool and rides. Rob took the Subaru out to Carmax to get a quote on selling it; he was there a long time and had picked out a number of cars to buy while waiting. Rob picked up Harmony, Camille and Claire on the way home.
photo friday: lovely light at edisto beach state park
One of my favorite things to do while at the beach is to get up early and watch the sun rise. While it was a bit too chilly for me to want to spen too much time on the beach so early in the morning, I did manage to get oout of my warm sleeping

School and work for all. In the afternoon, I headed to the Red Cross to volunteer in the office and then attend the monthly DAT meeting. Chloe got home to an empty house, a rare occurrence. Rob and Chloe had dinner; I returned from my meeting; Camille came home late from opening night of “Hairspray”
home improvements: den
When we downsized from our beloved Pine Lake house into a condo on the Decatur Square back in 2011, I thought that we had come to the end of our home improvement projects. And, for the first year in our condo, we didn’t do too much beyond a couple of painting projects. When we moved
