photo friday: tugaloo state park
As summer approached, I realized that our summer weekends were filling up already and that I had better make camping plans right away if I wanted to get in any camping before school started back up again. Thus, the weekend after Memorial Day found the girls and I at Tugaloo State Park right on the South Carolina border.
I chose the location so that we could take a side trip to Traveler’s Rest as part of our Georgia History studies.
Overall, we enjoyed the large campground on on Lake Hartwell. In fact, our camping spot was right on the lake, and the girls could swim right there! We did take time to go over to the beach where there was sand, but it was quite crowded there. Unfortunately, the rain started to come down hard on Sunday, practically washing our site right out from under us. We packed up quickly and headed home early before we would float away.
