Google Maps is rolling out new mapping applications.
I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again. I’m a huge fan of maps. I loe when I can spend hours examining maps. I love seeing the evolution of maps of an area. I love trying to match up features of maps. I love discovring new places.
Even better, games that involve maps. For instance, a month of so ago, I posted the link to GeoGuesser, a game that I have to limit my time on. I don’t play computer games much, but this is one I could play ad nauseam.
But, back to Google. Along with their new map apps, they have introduced a “certificate”. Today, I finally got around to starting the education. I’m not sure that I will finish in time (the deadline is quite tight), but I’ll enjoy working through it in any case. The activities so far have been quite along the lines of a scavenger hunt (I’m thinking the old school “Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?” here…. that was such a great game … )
(In other news, last week I was “gifted” into a new iPhone and thus had no choice but to accept the new iOS which pushed Apple Maps onto me…sigh.)
