Happiness Project: Being Authentic – Item 1
Time and time again, I return to considering how well I’m doing at being authentic. Apparently, this is a topic I need to revisit on a regular basis, as I seem to easily slip back into a place where I’m not being the best I can be. I remember that I started going through a

Georgia: Chief Vann House
Yesterday we continued our Georgia History Field Trips by visiting the Chief Vann House in Chatsworth. After a very foggy drive over the mountains from Ellijay (with a quick stop at Fort Mountain to use the facilities and purchase a few treats), we arrived at the historic site. We were the only people there, other

Phelix loves the cardboard tube that our new runner was wrapped around. Hopefully he won’t take a liking to the new rug too…
celebrations: week 21 (20-26 may 2013)
I’ve decided to move celebration planning to Thursday to give me time to acquire any ingredients or supplies that I might need in order to celebrate … So far this week, we’ve celebrated “National Apple Pie Day”, “National Buttermilk Biscuit Day”, and “National Chocolate Chip Day”. I don’t know that we’ll attempt any others, except

Our new balcony tables fro IKEA arrived today! I got them all put together and disposed of all the recycling (ugh) in time for Chloe to be able to do her homework out on the balcony today. I think I’m going to really enjoy these new tables, much more than our old uncomfortable ones!
summer planning!
Summer vacation is almost upon us, and we’re getting all geared up. With only 67 days of summer break, and Camille and Chloe both heading to school on August first, I hope that we can make the most out of our long summer days. I don’t want the summer to slip away with us only

celebrations: week 20 (13-19 may 2013)
I had a hard time findgin any holidays other than food ones for this coming week. I think I need to find some other sources for daily holidays!! This past week, we celebrated “Clean Your Room Day” and “Mother’s Day” in the same way — cleaning the girls’ room. Coming up this week: 13 :

Phelix was such a stinkerooni. Time for a bath!! He doesn’t mind too much, but he certainly doesn’t love getting all lathered up.
mother’s day
Despite my desire to celebrate each and every day, I’m terrible at celebrating events like my own birthday and Mother’s Day and even Christmas. When the celebration gets *personal* and I’m expected to give meaningful gifts or send personal messages or cards, I fall apart. Take the crafts and recipes for “National Blonde Brownie Day”
