photo friday: kolomoki mounds historic park
Back in August, Camille and I loaded up Evie (our VW pop top), swung by Chloe’s school to pick her up and headed south to Kolomoki Mounds Historic Park for a weekend of camping and history studies.
We arrived around 7pm, so the office was closed, but we found our way to the campground and found a lovely spot on the lake. We worried it would be buggy near the water, but the only bugs that bothered us all weekend were the ants. And there were lots of ants ….
The campground itself was blissfully quiet. We had a wonderful quiet weekend of camping, cooking, exploring and swimming. The “beach” at the lake was a short distance from the campground. The water was tepid and not all that refreshing. Plus, the “No swimming, alligators present” sign just past the swimming area was a little worrisome. Camille and I enjoyed the museum, built into a mound, and climbing to the top of one of the mounds.
This is an entry for Delicious Babyโs Photo Friday.
