Snow on the Square

It has been almost a month now since we had snow on the square… I’ve fallen quite far behind here, haven’t I?

A few Tuesdays ago when I went to pick up Chloe from school (school gets out at 3:45 and gymnastics starts at 3:45 — great plan), the kids filed out to the hill to wait their turn. Unlike the usual craziness, they all sat down and started reading. That Tuesday was the release of Diary of a Wimpy Kid 6: Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney, and apparently a large number of kids at school had pre-ordered their copies through the school!

Thus, it came as no surprise that the Decatur Square was packed the following Saturday for the *huge* Jeff Kinney event. Early in the morning, the “Rolling Blizzard” arrived and started to blast the square with a snowstorm. Not long after, the signing line started to form. What a crowd! And what fun for all the kids to get to play in the snow, even if for a short while. Chloe was just over the moon when she got to meet Jeff and get a photo with him.
