Our last day in the car!
Out West Trip: Day 38 (Cadiz, KY to HOME)
Today’s highlights: HOME! I worked in the motel room in the morning while Rob and the girls went to get some breakfast. After we left the motel, we stopped at a Starbucks to get some real coffee. And then drove and drove, getting home around 4pm. Home! Trip Stats: Roadside Attractions: None. (Total: 29) States:
iowa flooding – 27 jun 2011
Day 37 of our big trip out west brought us closer to home but not as close as we had hoped. Flooding on the interstates slowed us down quite a bit.

Today’s highlights: Entering MO through the back door due to the flooding in IA. Buffet lunch in small town MO. Getting closer to home. Day 36 had us heading home. We stopped at Wall Drug and the Corn Palace as we sped across South Dakota.

Today’s highlights: Eating pie at Wall Drug. Cob-shaped popcorn balls from the Corn Palace. A short detour to visit MN. On Day 35 of our trip out west, we hung out at Custer State park with friends. It felt good to sit still for a change!

On day 34 of our trip out west, we went from Devil’s Tower to Mount Rushmore. The girls enjoyed the alpine slide and camping with friends at Custer State Park.

On Day 32 of our trip, we went swimming at the “World’s Larget Hot Springs” in Thermopolis, WY. What a funny place — a nice warm swim left us all feeling floppy.
