Mondays are for Dreaming: VW Poptop
Oh yeah. I’ve dreamed about this since I was four years old. I knew very little about the world, but I knew I had to have a “pop-pop” (according to my mother). My parents disappointed me; they bought a VW van — a plain one, no popping involved. In that van, we took a long trip out west, tenting style…
But now, I’ve hit my midlife crisis. And I saw this post from Dim Sum, Bagels and Crawfish, California Dreamin’ in England: Vacation in a VW Van. I may be joking (or not), but this spurred me on. Yes, an out west trip. And yes, in a pop-top. And yes, I MUST have those plates. So, did we buy Evie just so I could have an excuse to buy those plates… Or because my lifelong dream has been to have a pop-top? At this point, it doesn’t matter. The long-awaited, beloved pop-top is now in my garage and the plates have arrived from Campervantastic in the UK, ready for the maiden voyage to our wonderful western US National Parks. Stay tuned!
This is my entry for Mondays are for dreaming at Mother of All Trips..

I love that you are fulfilling a childhood dream and that it comes complete with VW plates! I was overexposed to all manner of VWs as a child, but never vans. We had bugs and the amazing red white and blue Thing. The bugs were often in varying states of dissembly… LOL
I certainly look forward to hearing about the adventures of your pop-pop this summer (and its passengers).
Love the plates!
