feels later than it is
despite the time change only being one hour, Chloe and I are feeling the effects of getting up way too early and going back in time. I was up around 5am, a bit earlier than I have been getting up (thought I’d love to rise that early on a regular basis!). Then we traveled to central time .. so our waking hour was effectively even earlier. Yawn.
Nevertheless, Chloe didn’t sleep on the plane. She didn’t sleep in the car. She went tubing/swimming at her grandma’s. She went to a ghost town where she played horseshoes and navigated a maze. She played iPhone games (thanks to Aunt Suze) on the way back to the house. And then turned around and went out to dinner with the family. She’s a much better trooper than I am. By 7pm, I was ready to call it an evening…finish up my walking, take a shower, look at my photos, catch up.
I managed to avoid the foods I want to avoid and got in my steps. I may have missed out on some family time, but we are here for a few days. I’ll get it all in and feel full. As will Chloe. And that makes this trip worth it, even if I don’t engage myself in every single moment.
