camboodle is here!
(Proud mama alert.)
In the time it took me to complete a scarf (Hagrid-sized, however) with knit only (no purling here), Camille has managed to learn how to knit just about anything. In the eighteen months since she first picked up her needles, she’s made hats, socks, bags and more. She’s learned to wet felt, needle felt, spin fiber into yarn and more. (Thank goodness for very talented neighbors!)
As a supportive parent, I’ve supplied her with yarn, fiber, needles, a teacher and more. I’ve taken her to yarn stores and random fiber events. Her Christmas gifts this year included fiber and tickets to StitchesSouth. Her birthday gift, seeing as we were in Northampton, MA, was a shopping spree at WEBS.
And now, only 18 months since she started, Camille has opened her very own Etsy shop. We struggled for a name for four or five months, finally settling on Camboodle.
For now she’s working on lister the twenty or so pouches she’s knit. And I’m super proud of all she’s learned…
Now, if only she can make enough to support her spinning/knitting habit. I’m hearing her talk of spinning wheels and wondering how many pouches she’ll have to sell to buy one of those …
