Sunday in Baltimore
Our ZipCar reservation started at 10:30, so we had a little bit of time his morning to get breakfast and get packed for our overnight trip to Baltimore. We ended up with a bright red Jetta, that the girls just loved! On the way to Baltimore, we stopped at Target to get (yet another) swimsuit for Camille. There was no traffic, so we ended up at the theater with about an hour to spare.
While walking down the street, we found a little pizza place and got a small pizza, since it was after noon already. The waitress didn’t seem to believe that we only wanted one pizza (personal pizza size), but we were just there for a small snack and to kill time. After our snack, we headed across the street to the theater. We were greeted by the Milkshake Cow at the door. The lobby of the theater is a gallery space, so we looked at some art and then headed in. The theater was packed, and we got some of the last seats!
We all had a great time at the show. The kids loved the confetti, bouncing balls, huge globe bouncing around and more. After the show, we said hi to Lisa and Mikel and then headed out. We parked near the hotel and tried to check in at the Intercontinental, but there were no rooms ready, so we left the bag and walked over to the National Aquarium. We ended up getting tickets for the last admission time, and then went to get a snack, seafood for Rob and hush puppies for us.
Chloe LOVED the aquarium! The girls loved watching the dolphins. As with yesterday at the zoo, Chloe insisted in looking in every case and finding all the animals. In one, we all thought the crocodile was a fake one, but then he moved, startling us all (and embarrassing Chloe who had been so convinced it wasn’t real). We left the aquarium as it was leaving and went to the hotel.
We got into our room at 7:15, but the pool was scheduled to close at 7:30, so Rob and the girls changed super fast. The pool stayed open until 8pm, so they had a good time in the pool. After they came back and had cleaned up, we decided we were hungry, but none of us wanted to go out, so we ordered room service for dinner.
