The Magic Touch
Traveling is one big adventure. I’m hoping that the girls will learn to “go with the flow” while traveling. I’ve had a lot of practice in the last three weeks.
On our way home from DC last month, the navigation system on the plane was not working. Rebooting didn’t help. It had simply overheated. No replacements were available, so we had to get off the plane and wait for a new plane that could fly us home.
On my way home from California last week, a man almost died (heart condition) so we had to make an emergency landing in Las Vegas so he could be rushed to the hospital.
Yesterday, on our trip to DC our plane had a mechanical problem that was found as we taxied. It was fixed, but we had to go to back of the line. In DC, our metro train broke down (bad sign for the Inauguration crowds) and we had to get another. Chloe’s Metro card was demagnetized with $10 left on it (we’ll try to get it replaced if we ever need to go to Metro Center).
And none of it really bothered us. Going with the flow really makes traveling not so stressful.

I posted this three hours before a pilot skillfully landed a stalled plane into the Hudson River. How would I have reacted on that flight? I have no idea. I’d hope that I could stay calm in order to protect my kids…
