One precinct that may prove a refuge on Election Day is tiny Pine Lake. The south DeKalb city has one precinct, the smallest in the county with 605 voters. It also had the smallest early turnout, with 16 percent. Election officials said voters there prefer to show up on the big day, so they see each other and experience the event together. And things usually move pretty smoothly there.
โPine Lake is the place to be,โ Latimore said. โEven at the worst time it canโt be that bad.โ

Yay! Of course, the “show up and talk with your peeps” idea ran aground this morning for me. I walked right in to a mostly empty room, got to see a total of 3 Pine Lakers. Scored two very short conversations and two hugs.
I saw you walk by — you should have stopped in for a third hug ๐
