House Party
On Thursday, the girls and I left DC around noon and drove right to the airport in Atlanta to pick up Rob. We got home around midnight.
Friday, the girls and spent the day preparing for the big party! We went to the grocery store for food and also managed to get to the car wash — the car was seriously grimy. At home, I started prepping the food and was pretty much done by 6pm when Rob and Barbara arrived. People started coming soon after that…I didn’t count how many, but I guess there were probably about 50 people here at some point!
Ralph, Tom, Rita and Michael arrived just after 7:30pm. They hung out, said hi, got some food and even tested out the organ in the basement. Kids were starting to get restless, so we started up the music! The guys put on a great show for everyone; the kids were dancing and singing and interacting with the band and the music. So much fun! As it got later, the kids were getting tired and people started to leave. The guys took a break, then did a nice set for the adults that were still around. Everyone was getting tired, and the party ended around 11:30. So much fun to have Ralph come play at our house!
Amazingly, I took no photos! I have photos from my mom and one friend so far, but I suspect more photos will be shared at some point.
And, I now see that I never said who the band is! It is Ralph’s World — we’ve been fans for six years now and have had them at our house(s) five times already. They are on the Disney label and their videos play on Playhouse Disney on a regular basis…
Oh, and Ralph made a remark at our house that I thought was funny. He said he is used to us road tripping to go to his shows (we’ve seen him perform in 10 different states), but that us having to roadtrip to go to a show in our own house takes the cake ๐
