The Candy Season has Begun
It’s been a whirlwind getting back from DC and getting back to “normal”. New tires on the car is a good thing, but the engine still smells terrible.
Yesterday was our village Halloween party! Chloe, as in years past, decided at the last minute to NOT dress up. Her way to stand out is to dress up at all other times than when everyone else is dressed up…
The girls and I went down to the beach house early to help set up; Chloe said she couldn’t wait for “bag jumping” (that would be the sack race). At home, the girls got ready; Camille’s hair dye came out greenish instead of the advertised yellow, which was a bit of a disappointment. She was “Rosalina” a character that I don’t even know. She made the costume herself out of clothes she owned and craft stuff from the house. Chloe was going to be a “luma” but only did the purple hair.
Rob arrived as Super Mario. The kids all had fun playing games and listening to stories and doing crafts with their friends. We stayed for the spaghetti dinner and to clean up. Very little candy was given out (yeah!) and we came home with not too many plastic junkies (double yeah!). And I spent a lovely evening with my eclectic, varied, wonderful neighbors (triple yeah!).
