Stroll Through Georgetown
On Monday, the girls and I decided to head out for a walk around Georgetown. The bridge over Rock Creek and into Georgetown is only a couple of blocks from the apartment. The girls were impressed by the “Old Georgetown” sign.
We made the first left after crossing over and walked along the C&O Canal. Most of the touristy type things in Georgetown appear to run Wed-Sun, so we missed going on a canal boat ride or to the museums. We walked down to the river, where we saw a very nice labyrinth at the Georgetown Waterfront Park. We walked under the Whitehurst Freeway to the Potomac Boat Club, then back up to the canal and then finally up to the street by the Francis Scott Key Memorial.
We walked down M Street; the stores had signs like “No Strollers, No Food, No Drinks” (nothing about pets). We stopped in at The Old Stone House, which had a beautiful garden. The Georgetown CVS didn’t have colored hair spray (for Halloween). At Rock Creek, we turned off the street and visited to a couple of playgrounds. We then went to Trader Joe’s and another CVS before heading home.
