Rob’s New Pad

The apartment is in Foggy Bottom, 9ish blocks from the White House and next door to the Ritz-Carlton. Our accommodations are not quite up to Ritz standards. More like grad student standards. But the apartment is clean, is amazingly located and has an incredible rooftop patio/pool. It is also quite large. There is room to host lots of people who are up for one of two fold out couches or the third non-fold out couch or the floor.

Parking and driving are a bit on the frustrating side. Twice today, a wrong turn took us on a fifteen minute detour. Bah. We’ll have to find a nice parking deck for when I come, if it isn’t a weekend. For one, I don’t parallel park — I’m a better long distance driver than Rob, but I can’t maneuver.

We hit Target and Giant (grocery store) today. Target was a nightmare. I hate that kind of frenetic shopping. My Super Target is so much more pleasant. They needed four way stop INSIDE the Target, it was that congested.

We have a pile of returns and a growing shopping list already….
