Georgia Mountain Fair
As I had worked so much earlier in the week, it was time to get away from the computer and do something else. After much fuss, as it is always a challenge to get five people out of the house, we hit the road to head to the Georgia Mountain Fair.
The girls spotted the carnival rides from the road and were very excited! But first, we took some time to explore a section that we hadn’t been to before — the craft demonstrations and historical buildings. There was an old one room school house with antique books — how different from how we have “school”!
After wandering through history, the craft vendors, and a music hall where a few hundred people were listening to live country music, the girls started to get hot, bored, thirsty, whiny. Phil took Chloe over to the petting zoo, where they got to see a zonkey. Yes, a zonkey. And a camel, goats, monkey, chicks, and more. Camille went and bought herself a water, not wanting to drink from the water spigot.
Finally it was time to check out the carnival. I do not like carnival rides. The rides at Disney I like. But the spinning rapidly thrill I don’t like. Unfortunately, Chloe was too short to go on most of the “not boring” rides without an adult. The ones she could go on were the exact ones that I remember from a kids. I bet they are the same ones. It started to pour, the carnival people all headed for cover, so the only ride running was the carousel, which the girls enjoyed. But Chloe is going to take her dad to a carnival next time.

Well, that looks like fun. Matt and I have an agreement that he’s the official roller-coaster rider when Lilah is older. I really don’t like spinning and going upside down and whatnot. Now, carousels, I like!
