Photo Friday: Mermaids at Fernbank
This year, we’ve decided that we will play Hometown Tourists whenever we are actually in town. Though we’ve been to the Fernbank Museum of Natural History a gazillion times, it was this week’s tourist destination. The weather has been so HOT that I wanted to go somewhere indoors and no place that has gardens we might like to explore. Additionally, the Mythic Creatures exhibit will be closing soon (Aug 14), and we really wanted to go and see it (again).
When we arrived the parking lot was full, full, full. Everyone in Atlanta is looking for a place to take the kids and get out of the heat! The new “NatureQuest” was crawling with kids; I wish that it had been there when the girls were younger!
This is an entry for Delicious Baby’s Photo Friday.

I love the idea of a “hometown tourist!” stolen……

We started touristing around our adopted hometown (I guess it is my son’s hometown since he was born there). It is such a great adventure. I have been thrown into so many places that I would never have thought to check out before him. Can’t wait to see where you guys check out next!
Awesome; I’m glad you are having your own adventures in your adopted hometown! And, well, Atlanta isn’t my hometown, but it is where we live at the moment, so I call it that ๐ I’ve been kind of down on living here, and I hope this will make me feel a little more attachment …
The weather’s been so awfully hot. You’re right – that place looks cool.
