walk in the woods

this morning we woke to rain falling quietly, soothingly on the roof. We all gave in to the peace and had a slow start to the morning. Chloe and Barbara made a nice coffee cake midmorning as Camille worked on her homeschooling and I (mostly) happily worked on conquering my to-do list. Around noon, Chloe decided that it was time to go for a short hike, so we headed out the back door.

The no-seeums were out and about, so Chloe figured she would solve that problem by donning her goggles for the hike. She was quite a sight to see. The rain stayed away and we had a nice little romp over the river and through the woods back to grandma’s cabin.
