Creative Works
Chloe has been wandering around today wanting to do projects. She wants to make puppets, clothes for the cat, cities with blocks, stories in her imagination.
I have lots of dreams of being creative, but I’m really an organizer. I’m not saying that people can’t be both, but for me, I tend to organize and catalog things that are done by others. I don’t write or play music, but organize other people’s music. I have ideas of projects I’d like to try; I have projects I have started (like the scarf that won’t get done in time for yet another winter).
Today I thought I make take a stab at sketching. I bought a book last January and did well for a while with it, learning quite a bit, but then I stopped doing it for a while and haven’t picked up drawing again. Today I got out the paper, got out the pencils and got out the eraser. But instead of picking up the pencils, I picked up the camera sitting nearby.
Is taking photos creative? I’m not creating something new really. But I do try to capture a moment, a view, an angle in a way that is not standard. So I do think in some sense my photography can be considered creative. And it even gives me something to catalog. And I so would like a macro lens for my camera.

Maybe Santa will read your blog and bring you that macro lens ๐
Or maybe I can make the 40 mile round trip to get to FedEx to mail this form to Odile so I can get these worthless options to be worth something…..and buy one with that semi-windfall….
I think that photography is an art. And can be very creative. I know that I would much rather pick up my camera than a sketch book ๐ At least I know I’ll be more pleased with the results…
