A Day At the Museum
Atlanta Area . Historical . Museums Article
The girls have been complaining that we don’t go to the museum enough (eh, I took them to the Field Museum AND Morton Arboretum (2x) last weekend, doesn’t that count?), so they begged to go to the Atlanta History Center today. Once there, I realized they didn’t really want to go to a museum, they wanted to go to a gym. We spent about half our time in the little sports lab in the upstairs part of the Olympics exhibit. They tried out the exercise bikes (Chloe couldn’t reach the pedals), the rowing machines and the “long jump”, which is more like a zip line. Over and over and over. Hmm.

Oh, wow! I can only hope Lilah actually begs to go to museums. I guess I did when I was younger, but we had to bribe my brother with promises of the gift shop in order to have him behave in museums.
The sports lab is so funny! You don’t usually expect to work out at a museum ๐
Well, I bet she will want to go to museums. As long as you don’t make her read every word on the displays. ๐
Camille got so hot we needed go go on a hunt for the water fountain. Educational exercise?
We have not been to the history center in forever. Since they were in preschool I think. We have this horrible habit of ignoring what’s in our own backyard.
(and “word” verification: zbsftfff. Sheesh!)
Us too. I’m going to try to make a better effort to get out and about even when we’re at home.
