Best Birthday Gift?
Yeah, she’s a funny girl. Those, in fact, are Wasabi peas. Truly, she loved all her gifts, safari clothes, the building toy Camille picked out for her, but the best was saved for last. Her own Nintendo DS. Yes, they snuck the Wii into the house and now we are officially a modern family.
Here’s the cake that Camille and Claire made for Chloe. Notice the finger in it already …

Oh, the peas are funny! Very nice cake. Obviously made with love ๐
The cake is hilarious! Love all the thumb prints.
My girls got their DSs for Christmas from my inlaws. And we have a wii for Christmas (shhh…it’s a secret). We are becoming modern as well…kicking and screaming…but modern…
Yes, a cake made with love….and some random things like cornmeal since we ran out of flour (even though I asked Camille to check we had enough of everything to make a cake before we went to the store, sigh).
I think Camille is jealous and would like a DS as well. I always hated the idea of a “game system”, but watching Rob and the girls play the Wii, cooperating, jumping, etc, it isn’t so bad. They don’t turn into zombies, just the opposite. The DS, well, I’m not sold on it yet. We’ll see.
The girls are only allowed to play on the DS on weekends. Even during the summer. And I’m even contemplating limiting that. Or you could even treat it the way we treat the dvd player in the car – that it’s for trips only…
But then would it apply to me? And how should I drive and play DS at the same time ??
My hamster will be so sad as we drive to Chicago this weekend unless I authorize one of my girls to care for him…
