Japan Trip, Day 2 (Breakfast + Promenade)
Not unexpectedly, we all woke quite early. Even after dressing and cleaning up, breakfast still was not open. Soon enough, we headed down to the first floor and through a maze of closed stores, arcade parlors and more. Breakfast was incredible. Lots of “western food” such as coffee (yeah!), croissants, scrambled eggs, onion rings(?). Plus lots of Japanese choices, like omeletes with seaweed, sticky rice and fried kelp. Since we hadn’t had a meal in something like 25 hours, we all ate a lot. Chloe ate tons of seaweed.
>After breakfast, we headed out to the promenade. The girls can’t wait to get to the beach and pools. We walked across a sea wall to the next hotel’s promenade, where we saw lots of interesting flora and fauna. I don’t know what I expected, but I was quite surprised to see so many plants that I had never seen before. And puffer fish swimming around the bridges we walked across.

Gwyn, tell the girls that Kylin and I have been snuggling with Gazoo and that she’s doing fine. She’s still limping and isn’t as affectionate as she clearly is with her own fam, but she comes and plays and nuzzles some. Kylin has particularly enjoyed watching Dumbledore, then wandering around and yelling, “tur-ule!” every time he sees one of your turtle paintings or hangings.
Thanks for the report on Gazoo. We are hoping that the quiet time will help her recover, but we don’t want her to get too lonely.
Love to you all!
Oh, I’m glad you got coffee! Onion rings? Weird. Myst be one of those things that gets lost in translation, thinking it’s breakfast food.
Looks beautiful!
AH…breakfast ended up being our only real meal, so I’m glad that we really filled up!
Looking forward to another cup of coffee. Breakfast opens in 45 minutes (we’re still not adjusted to the time, I guess).
